It is with enthusiasm and excitement that I introduce myself to you as the Acting Principal of Breakthrough II Magnet School, North Campus. I have heard wonderful things about our school’s community and culture and look forward to the year ahead!
I am starting my eleventh year as part of the Breakthrough family. I began my career in education as a graduate intern at Breakthrough Magnet South Campus. I have had the pleasure of teaching PreKindergarten/ Kindergarten multiage, a straight kindergarten and first and second grade at Breakthrough Magnet South campus. Three years ago I had the opportunity to become the Assistant Principal when the founder of Breakthrough, Norma Neumann- Johnson retired and the new principal was instated. The ten years that I have spent at the Breakthrough South Campus have been the most rewarding time of my life thus far. To work with the families everyday and see the children grow as individual learners was a gift that I will hold forever in my heart.
I am eager to build similar relationships with all of the stakeholders at Breakthrough II. It takes a village to raise a child. Parents, teachers, support staff, community and administration all play a critical part in ensuring that each child thrives. It is our job at school to get to know each and every child well so that the child as a whole can learn and grow. Our students will always be at the heart of what we do everyday and I am looking forward to meeting each child and getting to know them well. You will find that my door is always open and I am looking forward to our partnership this year!
