B.R.I.C.K. Acronym

In addition to the school rules, as part of our character curriculum, we raise student awareness in the following 5 major areas:

B- Changing Breakdowns to Breakthroughs by applying problem solving strategies.

R- Taking Responsibility for being the author of one’s life by mastering one’s self- talk.

I- Learning how Integrity (keeping one’s word) empowers relationships and goals.

C- Creating opportunities for students to Contribute to their classroom, school, and the community.

K- Engaging students to increase their Knowledge in all areas to better inform their choices.

Be a B.R.I.C.K. not a marshmallow!

Every day, during morning announcements, students will recite the

Breakthrough II Compact, below:

BREAKTHROUGH II COMPACT

As Breakthrough II students this is our compact:

To ask ourselves when faced

with a breakdown

“How can I change this Breakdown

to a Breakthrough?”

To return no bad deed for another,

To change bad thoughts to good ones,

To keep our word,

To help other’s in our school, home, and community,

And to use our best manners wherever we are.

By reciting the Breakthrough II School Rules and the Breakthrough II School Compact, the students make the agreement each morning that they will follow the school rules and that they will use their strategies to be have the best character possible.
